Health sector getting ready for the Commissioning Show
Leaders across the health and care sectors will gather for two days next week at the UK’s largest integrated care conference.
The Commissioning Show, co-located with Health+Care, will take place on 29 and 30 June at the ExCel in London, with a plethora of talks and debates on areas including mental health, finance, the role of CCGs and devolution.
The Five Year Forward View vision of integrated health and social care is urgently needed in order to meet a variety of challenges, including the NHS deficit and bed shortages. And a recent joint report from the NHS Confederation, Local Government Association (LGA), Association of Directors of Adult Social Services (ADASS) and NHS Clinical Commissioners argued that integrated care should be ‘business as usual’ by 2020, but warned that this vision was at risk because of funding shortages.
It is therefore more important than ever to get health and social care leaders coming together and sharing ideas.
