New Director endorses strong and independent voice for NHS Employers to take White Paper reforms forward
The need for a strong and independent employers’ voice in the NHS has never been greater,as the service prepares to implement the Government’s White Paper reforms, NHS Employers’ director-elect, Dean Royles has said.
In closing remarks to the NHS Employers annual conference, Mr Royles highlighted the hard work NHS Employers had put into developing mature partnership working at local, regional and national level. He said it was time to demonstrate the benefits of that hard work at a time of significant change.
“Managers, chief executives, directors and trade union officials are just as passionate as our clinical colleagues about improving patient care, quality and experience,” he said.
“I think we can also learn lessons from each other. Trade unions recognise the value and strength that comes from a collective voice and from strength in numbers.
“I believe that with a vibrant NHS Employers organisation, we can also demonstrate there is strength in a collective employers’ voice with a unity of purpose that can be used to ensure we meet the challenge of improving quality and achieving savings – while continuing to make the NHS a great place to work.”
