NHS Highland reviewing homoeopathy funding
Following a BBC investigation into the use of NHS funded homeopathy, a health board in Scotland is considering removing funding for the controversial practice.
NHS Highland’s chief operating officer Elaine Mead told the BBC: “It is important that NHS Highland can demonstrate the quality and clinical effectiveness of all of the treatments currently provided at times of more scarce resource.
“It is right that we re-look at any investment in this area in the light of the current debate between clinical groups.”
The BBC investigation uncovered cases where people were being given a homeopathic substance, which was ‘designed to replace the MMR vaccine’.
