Parish appointed to PHE advisory board
Public Health England (PHE) has appointed Richard Parish, chief executive of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH) and theInstitute of Healthcare Management (IHM), to its advisory board.
Parish said: “I am delighted to have the opportunity to work with PHE and the other members of the advisory board. PHE works across government, public health, science and the NHS and as such is perfectly placed to tackle major health issues and remove barriers to health. I look forward to working with the Board to help realise the aim of PHE: improving the health and wellbeing of the nation.”
The three other new members of the advisory board are:
George Griffin, a consultant physician who is also professor of Infectious Diseases and Medicine at St George’s, University of London; Martin Hindle, chairman of The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust and a non-executive director at the MHRA; and Derek Myers, joint chief executive at the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea and London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Chair of RSPH, Dr Fiona Sim, said: “Richard has a wealth of experience in public health which will be invaluable to PHE. This is a crucial time for public health and RSPH looks forward to working closely with PHE in support of its aim to improve the health and wellbeing of the population.”
