Quality information standard for cancer charity

A pancreatic cancer charity has become the first to be certified as a provider of safe, reliable and high-quality information.

The Information Standard scheme has awarded Pancreatic Cancer Action the Information Standard quality mark. The standard is supported by the Department of Health.

A recent survey by the Information Standard showed that 72% of the public believe they would be better able to manage their own and their families’ health if they had quick and easy information they could trust.

PCA is a national charity which aims to raise awareness of the symptoms of pancreatic cancer, leading to earlier diagnosis and curative surgery.

Ali Stunt, founder and chief executive of Pancreatic Cancer Action said: “It is really important to us that pancreatic cancer patients and their families along with the wider population receive the very best and latest information on pancreatic cancer and its treatments.

“The Information Standard Certification is an easy way for the public to identify that Pancreatic Cancer Action is a producer of clear, accurate, impartial, balanced, up-to-date, evidence-based and accessible information on pancreatic cancer.”
