Steve Barnett, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, has announced plans to recruit a new permanent director of NHS Employers following the resignation of Sian Thomas.

Steve Barnett, chief executive of the NHS Confederation, announced: “Sian Thomas has resigned from her role as director of NHS Employers.

“NHS Employers plans to recruit a new permanent director of NHS Employers as soon as possible through an open process. Applications from all candidates will be invited through public advertisement during May 2010.

“We look forward to making a formal announcement as soon as the recruitment process for the director of NHS Employers is complete.”
