Hinchingbrooke and Circle
Source: Duncan Marr
I found your website and feel I do have something to say about the CQC report relating to Circle’s running of Hinchingbrooke Hospital. I listened to Professor Sir Mike Richards being interviewed by Eddie Mair at 5.40pm on Radio 4’s PM programme this evening.
My main point to convey is that he report issued earlier today by the CQC was a fair assessment based on the poor care my father received between June and August 2014. We did initially complain to the Hinchingbrooke Hospital patients liaison service (PALS) – it got us nowhere. After, we emailed a copy of our letter of complaint and the points raised direct to the CQC, who were just about to carry out an audit of the Hinchingbrooke Hospital in September. We take comfort in the fact that the poor care received by my father is in some ways recognised and that maybe something better will now emerge.
I have since contacted the BBC’s own website to raise a) my concerns that the situation is being politicised and b) that my family had first-hand experience of poor care, records of what we observed and our attempts to get someone at Hinchingbrooke Hospital patients liaison service (PALS) then the ward sister to “own the problem” (without success).
I would be grateful to hear anyone who can add these views into the debate so that a balanced view can be heard. Just listen to the Tories/Labour/unions now and you can understand how I feel first-hand accounts must be heard.
