Infection Prevention Week opportunity to ‘renew focus’, says RCN

The Royal College of Nurses has said that health workers should use Infection Prevention Week as an opportunity to renew their focus on the issue.

The RCN has joined forces with the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) to promote International Infection Prevention Week between 17 and 23 October.

Rose Gallagher, who advises on infection prevention and control for
the RCN, says: "This is an opportunity to renew the focus on reducing avoidable
infections and reviewing practices in the workplace."

During the week RCN members will be given access to a series of free online seminars, along with being given the opportunity to participate in a live web broadcast.
