ISCF launched to improve NHS information sharing
NHS organisations could be awarded funding to develop new digital services to improve the sharing of information, the Department of Health has announced.
The Information Sharing Challenge Fund (ISCF) is looking for innovative ideas to change the way information is used, accessed and shared across the NHS.
Projects are expected to lead to successful deployment and use of solutions based on the NHS interoperability toolkit.
Ailsa Claire OBE, Transition Director, Patients and Information Directorate, National Health Service Commissioning Board Authority wrote to NHS chief executives and directors of care to describe the new fund.
Her letter reads: “The Information Sharing Challenge Fund is a new scheme designed to improve patient care by stimulating the creation of new and innovative digital services, which are firmly underpinned by robust and effective information sharing based on approaches that are reusable across the NHS.
“It is specifically targeted at enabling local information sharing initiatives, which are likely to be part of wider quality and efficiency improvement programmes.”
