We are greatly encouraged to hear that the Prime Minister and Health Secretary have set out plans to invest an additional £140m in modernising NHS processes, so that nurses and midwives can embrace emerging technologies.
This will enable them to spend more time with patients and provide safer care, whilst reducing paperwork. This investment will ensure that NHS Trusts throughout the UK will be able to benefit from our digital pen and paper technology in the same way that some of the more progressive Trusts we have worked with to date have.
Not only can new technology put the power back in the hands of nurses and midwives, and enable a swifter, more comprehensive understanding of a patient's care and conditions. The reduction in the time spent on form filling and bureaucracy can generate significant cost reductions, which means a return on investment in a matter of months.
