Be Gas Safe programme seeks partners
Organisations are being invited to register their interest to become partners for a national carbon monoxide awareness programme. The deadline for registration has been extended till the end of the month.
The Royal Society for Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) and Gas Safe Charity are launching the ‘Be Gas Safe’ programme this year in England to raise awareness of the dangers of carbon monoxide and offer information on steps to prevent poisoning.
The programme will offer 10,000 families a free CO detector as well as safety information.
Organisations with regular and direct contact with the key risk groups, including both the young and the old, are being sought to join the programme.
Ashley Martin, RoSPA’s public health co-ordinator and Be Gas Safe programme manager, said: “All the resources for the Be Gas Safe programme are available to local organisations free of charge.
“We hope to hear from potential partners acrossEnglandwho wish to add to their existing activities by helping their clients find out more about carbon monoxide poisoning, why it is dangerous and how to prevent it.”
