Sex assault physiotherapist struck off
A physiotherapist has been struck off for sexually assaulting a woman on three separate occasions.
Andrew Murrin, who worked at the Natural Health Clinic in Chipping Sodbury, is now on the Sex Offenders Register and received a police caution.
He told police that “temptation got the better of him” and was aware the patient was a vulnerable woman.
A panel of the Health Professions Council (HPC) Conduct and Competence Committee condemned his “deplorable” behaviour and struck him off the Register, meaning he can no longer practice.
Chairwoman Elspeth Metcalf said: “The Panel considered that Mr Murrin’s conduct in respect of this patient were very serious and marked a deplorable departure from the standards expected of a registered physiotherapist.
“The nature of Mr Murrin’s misconduct is very serious and the Panel has therefore decided that a striking off order is the only appropriate and proportionate order which can adequately protect the public.”
Murrin did not attend the hearing and was not represented.
