The much-maligned CQC has published its 2013-16 strategy today, setting out its aims to strengthen the inspection process and provide clearer information for patients.
Will it be enough to turn performance around, and protect patient safety?
One of the major criticisms of the organisations is its failure to communicate the results of inspections to patients and their families. It is not enough to improve the process of inspection if this information is not made public, quickly and clearly.
Has the CQC finally managed to pin down its own role, and planned how it can fulfil this efficiently?
