Cohesion and collaboration
The NHS Confederation is today emphasising the importance of collaborative working in cutting costs and reducing inefficiencies.
Breaking down the barriers between different teams and responsibilities within the NHS could significantly improve ambulance turnaround times.
With efficiency savings the top of the agenda at the moment, there can be no room for silo working, or even that last 20% of handovers which take longer than necessary.
A ‘zero tolerance’ approach can really bring home the savings at stake when pushing the workforce to perform faster and more cohesively. It is also essential to provide relevant guidance when expecting more from staff – something the NHS Confederation has now developed.
