It may be hard, but we have to be realistic
Cutting anything in the NHS will never be easy – a lot of the time you are taking away someone’s chance to change their life.
But we live in testing times, where money is scarce. These times call for measures to be taken and that means belts must be tightened.
This means that once again, I make my plea to the NHS to cut non-essential treatments such as IVF.
Whilst I would never seek to deny anyone the choice to have these treatments, they simply are not now affordable on the NHS.
I would rather see my money saving the lives of sick children who have already been born.
