Its not news that the NHS needs help
I have always been perplexed as to why the NHS needs management consultants in the first place. I remember as a child that hospitals were run with a relatively small amount of administration and that people were hired for a job, because they already know how to do it.
Not it appears that the NHS had to spend £300 million last year on consultancy services, because those in charge just didn’t know how to do their job properly.
Whilst I can understand the need to bring in specialist consultancy over some issues which are a bit out of the ordinary, I feel that it is becoming a common practice to bring them in at the drop of a hat.
This has to stop. And will, because the money is drying up.
