Increased screening and the use of drugs like tamoxifen is extremely cost-effective, allowing a huge number of cases of the disease to be prevented.
How far should people be expected to minimise their own risk of cancer? There will be many who believe you should do everything you can to protect your health, but others will see it as close to pointless to take a pill every day for a disease you don’t have and may never get.
