I am glad to see that the government is taking a more methodical approach towards funding carers by giving them personal budgets.

Providing adequate care for the most vulnerable in our society is an important part of being a civilized society – and to cut back on elderly care is a false economy because we will all get there one day.

Whilst genuine carers should be given all the support they need, there are many out there who abuse the system.

This means that more care (excuse the pun) needs to be taken in the allocation of funding for those carers and in checking that everyone who receives help, deserves it.

Because there are many who don’t. This issue needs to be addressed.
