NHS leader wins top accolade – again
Dr Patrick Geoghegan, chief executive of the South Essex Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust, who was named NHS leader of the year 2009, has won another award.
Dr Geoghegan has been given the the JW Starkey Silver Medal Award by the Royal Society for Public Health, in respect of his ‘outstanding achievement and significant contribution in the field of mental health’.
He said: “To be presented with any award is always an achievement but for me this is as much about the recognition of the staff that are so dedicated and hard working and day in day out provide a consistently high level of care for our patients.
“I am honoured to receive this award from a body as august and prestigious as the Royal Society for Public Health.”
