Onwards and upwards
Public satisfaction with the NHS has improved slightly, following the huge dip it suffered last year when the reforms controversy was at its height.
But the increase is not statistically significant, according to the British Social Attitudes Survey, and means there is much more work to be done to rebuild patient and public confidence.
Now the main changes are starting to bed in, next year’s results could be very different, and will more honestly reflect the depth and breadth of the new NHS.
Any upward trend should be appreciated, however small, and can be built on to improve services for the future.
