Patient feedback

Source: Stuart Wallace

I have been involved with patient groups for a number of years and I must admit that the typical patient group that is engaged is the retired, white etc.

I have always been concerned that too many people within the health arena appear to accept the limited engagement that we have at the present time, since 2004 until I took voluntary redundancy from Royal Mail I was responsible for the majority of the health awareness campaigns that we organised within RM for delivery within all of our sites across the UK.

My experience within this role clearly indicated to me that employers and employees have a real desire for knowledge and understanding of where they can access resources to take responsibility for their own health.

I would like to engage with the employers and those employed in the UK whereby we can explore how we can connect with employers and their employees to provide them with health information to enable them to take more responsibility for their own and their families’ health, we would then have access to the working population to communicate the work of the MHS, PCT and the emerging CCGs.
