Ready and waiting
Revalidation has been a long time coming, and more and more NHS organisations are now ready to support doctors through the process.
Many have highlighted that the majority of patients would be surprised to discover such a system is not already in place. Revalidation is imperative to ensure patients receive a high standard of care, whoever is treating them.
It will drive up patient safety and keep doctors learning and improving throughout their careers.
The NHS is now ready – it is now down to Andrew Lansley to give the final go ahead later this year.
