So putting more NHS money in the hands of clinicians is ‘irresponsible’ is it, Mr Prentis?
The NHS needs to change – it currently spends too much on administration and too little on front line services, such as nurses and doctors.
So what does Unison hope to achieve by taking the government to court?
If they succeed it will simply mean that things stay exactly as they are, with our health service overburdened with unnecessary costs. They will have also cost the government – and therefore the public – a considerable amount of money.
So why not work with the government to find a way to make these changes possible? For many years, people have wanted to doctors to have a bigger say in how our healthcare budget is allocated – so why not work to make this a reality?
