Speed before sense
Following the approval of the controversial section 75 regulations, many organisations across the NHS will be trying to make sense of the outcomes of the vote and what it will mean for services and privatisation.
The attempt to overthrow the regulations was one last try for opponents to the Government’s plans for the health service, but it was easily defeated in the House of Lords.
After the vote, NHS Partners Network was one organisation a little too ready to offer their opinion. Both of them in fact, as they accidentally released two comments; expressing first their pleasure that the regulations were accepted, then their disappointment that they were rejected. It’s good to get in early with reaction on such important issues. But sometimes, more haste means less speed.
