The Hunt is on
Jeremy Hunt’s appointment as health secretary has raised a few eyebrows, particularly from those keen to bring up his penchant for homeopathy.
Despite Lansley’s unpopularity, at least he did have a solid understanding of the NHS, and experience of the service he has tried to reform.
Other concerns with Hunt’s past indications of his policy include his stance on abortion – he voted for the time limit to be reduced from 24 weeks to just 12 in 2008.
In short, a new health secretary can open the doors to potential shifts in policy, and not necessarily in the right direction.
Humans are hotwired to fear the unknown, and until Hunt begins his work, concerns are liable to keep circling.
