We need more money to treat diseases
I know I visit this subject a lot, but it is something which I am particularly passionate about: the NHS is there to fix people when they are sick, not to given them any treatment that they desire.
There is a finite amount of money and the fact that some people are willing to use that money for cosmetic surgery following weight loss (which is already expensive in itself) makes me feel sick.
Whilst I can see that giving fat people gastric bands has the capacity to save money for the NHS in the long run, it should not be paying for any follow up treatment just to suit that individual.
That money is there to save lives, not refine curves.
