A closer look
Will the hours of Parliamentary debate in the committee stage of the Health Bill lead to any conciliation between politicians and the health sector as experts line up to give evidence?
It is likely, at the least, to mean more the debate is conducted using more moderate language than that we see in the press, and will demand detailed arguments. It will also reveal the areas where medics agree with the Government, rather than just those where there are clashes.
Even so, it will be interesting to hear what MPs on the bill committee make of the flood of criticism of the most controversial aspects of the bill over the next few days and weeks.
