Be prepared
With an ageing population comes all the health problems this presents; from falls to eye conditions and everything in between.
Supply from the NHS, and services that actually deliver effective treatment that minimises future problems, is in great demand already. Research suggests that there are not enough ophthalmologists in ratio to patients, and exercise programmes do not go far enough to help protect the elderly.
Will the health service be able to cope? Some change is necessary to enable the NHS to provide enough high quality care to all those that need in, preferably before their ailments become more serious.
It is something that must be considered now, before it is too late.
