Finding the money for decent care
The Willis Commission on nursing education is keen to make things better for patients and to improve patient safety and experience.
Are the things it wants – much better-trained healthcare assistants among them, with the extra costs that goes with that – going to be possible for the NHS?
More community placements for trainee nurses, to aid health and social care integration, would obviously be a good thing. But some of the recommendations do sound like they’re going to involve spending a lot of money that might be hard to find over the next few years.
