NHS reform - jaw-jaw or war-war?
So a hardcore of doctors are urging their colleagues to ‘mobilise’ to fight the NHS reforms.
The military metaphor may give away more than they intended – it is a little hard to sympathise with a policy that completely rejects constructive engagement with decision-makers in favour of grandstanding opposition.
The BMA is unlikely to buckle under the pressure and will no doubt stay on course – critical, to be sure, but not at the window-smashing stage just yet. Surely that is the better course of action at this point.
