Pop go the quangos
So, the government has delivered its promised "bonfire of the quangos", abolishing 192 agencies, merging 18 and reforming 171 with the health sector particularly badly hit.
This isn’t a black and white situation. Some will be missed more than others but to suggest that all quangos are bad is dumbed-down tabloid nonsense.
My commiserations to anyone who will lose their job as a result of the shake-up.
