Leadership is often highlighted as a key quality to facilitate effective service redesign, and bring the whole workforce on board to achieve radical change.
The new funding announced for programmes by the NHS Leadership Academy will help to provide such essential training at a time when the entire NHS is undergoing significant structural and organisational reform.
Investing in the people behind the NHS is one of the best ways to improve services, and will lead to greater innovation, as well as skill at implementing and managing new ways of working.
