The gathering storm
The Lancet and the King’s Fund are the latest big hitters in healthcare to make strident warnings about the NHS reforms.
Is the weight of criticism of the plans because Andrew Lansley has given the various unions, professional organisations, committees, think-thanks and analysts so many different targets to hit?
With such widespread reform, some aspects are bound to aggravate almost anybody, and it is notable that most of the organisations take umbrage at certain aspects of the reforms, rather than the whole package.
Is it all just sound and fury that will fade in time, or will the clamour get louder and louder as the reforms kick in?
