Too much to ask?
How much information the NHS provides for various agencies has been called into question by the NHS Confederation. The organisation suggests that numerous, often overlapping or repeat requests can significantly affect the frontline’s ability to attend to their primary clinical duties.
Of course clear communication of information is essential for a variety of reasons, and such transparency should not be curtailed in order to cut costs, or used as a scapegoat for poor care.
Yet more intelligent cooperation between the authors of these information requests could considerably lower the bureaucratic burden on the NHS. This aim has been voiced before, yet the new review paper suggests not enough progress is being made.
How can the NHS and the Government work to improve the flow of information, to ensure it is relevant, and vital, rather than just a drain on resources.
