Dates announced for £15m clinical pharmacy pilot webinars
GPs and pharmacists have been invited to register for webinars to learn more about the £15m ‘clinical pharmacists in general practice’ pilot, which was launched last month.
The series of webinars and events are being organised by NHS England, the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and other partners in the GP Workforce 10 Point Plan.
As part of the pilot, up to 300 clinical pharmacists are expected to be recruited and employed in GP surgeries to provide direct patient care and to ease the workload of doctors.
GP practices and groups of practices are invited to bid for funding as part of the pilot, with NHS England accepting submissions between Friday 11 September and Thursday 17 September.
The events have been organised for GP practices and pharmacists to help them understand the role of pharmacists in general practice; understand the application process and how to make a good application; and get their questions answered by a live panel.
The event dates are:
- 12 August – 2-4pm – pharmacists in GP surgeries webinar
- 20 August – 9.30am-1.30pm – responding to the NHSE clinical pharmacists in General Practice Pilot Scheme (PCPA event), Leeds
- 26 August – 1-2pm – pharmacists in GP surgeries webinar
- 2 September – tbc – Health and Care Innovation Expo 2015, slot at NHS England exhibition stand (time tbc)
- Pharmacists in GP surgeries webinar
