Funding to CCGs to stay fixed until 2021
The NHS intends to fix the funding for CCGs at the same sum every year until 2021, leading to a decrease in funding per head.
The NHS will allocate £1.2bn each year to CCGs, the same as last year.
The allocation of running cost allowances for each person in the UK will decrease slightly, from £22.07 in 2015-17 to an estimated £21.46 by 2020-21.
NHS England have introduced changes to the formula by which funding is allocated, including introducing a formula for specialised services and an adjustment for the higher costs of emergency ambulance services, and refreshments to a formula developed by the Nuffield Trust to allow for more recent data.
