Governance code published for CCGs
A new code has been developed to support good governance in Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs). The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators (ICSA) has developed the draft guidance through an expert panel representing all specialties required within the governing body of a CCG.
The principles include understanding and supporting other CCG members’ roles in decision making, acting collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, accepting collective accountability, and ensuring robust processes for decision making are in place to support and maintain transparency.
ICSA is seeking feedback on the code before publishing final guidance later this year. NHS professionals are invited to provide feedback either by written submission or at a series of seminars. The deadline for feedback is Friday, July 26. See here for information: https://www.icsaglobal.com/clinical-commissioning-groups-code/
