Health Foundation launches new collaborative communities programme
The Health Foundation has announced a new £2.1m programme for developing partnerships within communities where people, families, health care professionals and researchers work together to develop health care.
The programme titled the Common Ambition programme will support up to five ambitious teams across the UK who will work towards the shared goal of building maintainable change across the health care sector through collaboration between those who use services and those who deliver them.
Successful corporations will receive funding of between £300,000 and £500,000 for two to three years.
The programme is hoped to capture learning, measure impact and create links with local systems. Working with organisations such as universities, clinical commissioning groups, academic health science networks and local authorities could subsequently strengthen the partnerships.
Funding is available to partnerships between providers of NHS services and voluntary or community sector organisations, such as charities or social initiatives.
The support isn’t just of a financial nature. Successful teams will receive a tailored package of support, from coaching, training, learning and facilitation events, worth between £30,000 and £50,000. Thereby allowing teams to learn and apply collaborative working approaches and design their partnerships to achieve clear measurable outcomes.
The Health Foundation are holding two events, one in February and one in March, for advisory guidance on applying for the Common Ambition programme.
