New NHS Digital framework to help manage cyber threats

A new cyber security services framework developed in partnership with NHS Digital and the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) and NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) has been launched to help the NHS and public sector procure cyber security services.

The Cyber Security Services Framework can be used to procure external support and services to help manage cyber security risks, increase resilience and recovery in the event of an incident.

The framework has been designed to complement services already available from NHS Digital’s Data Security Centre.

It will enable organisations to bring in additional resource to do work including implementing solutions, carry out security testing, provide consultancy and recover from incidents.

A total of 25 carefully-selected suppliers from a highly specialised marketplace feature on the framework, which is supported and approved by NHS Digital. It is aimed at making it easier for NHS bodies to procure these specialist services and solutions.

Dan Jeffery, NHS Digital’s Head of Innovation, Delivery and Business Operations,  said: “This new framework will give NHS and other public sector organisations confidence that they are buying quality cyber security services from trusted suppliers, and a sustainable route to market for organisations who want to improve their cyber security posture.

“It will provide further options, alongside NHS Digital’s central offering, for organisations to procure support which is bespoke and relevant to them, so that they can continue to keep patient data safe and secure and deliver world class patient care.

“We will continue to work with partners such as the NCSC to support organisations to safeguard against malicious attacks.”
