NHS LPP look to establish £22m medical gas cylinders framework

NHS London Procurement Partnership (NHS LPP) have published an open opportunity contract notice ahead of establishing a framework agreement for the supply and rental of medical gas cylinders and the provision of cylinder asset tracking systems.

The complete framework agreement, which is anticipated to begin in October 2020 and run for an initial two-year period, will cover the provision of medical cylinder gases, related consumables and cylinder tracking services – which may include both internal and external tracking capabilities.

As part of the framework agreement, the NHS organisations identified in the tender documents will be able to create call-off contracts for the supply of goods and/or services as appropriate to their organisation.

Those organisations listed in the tender documents include Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, who serve as the host of NHS LPP, as well as 51 other NHS trusts and 33 clinical commissioning groups (CCGs). The full list can be accessed here.

Any successors or organisations created as a result of structural reorganisation during the life of the framework agreement will also be eligible to utilise the call-off functionalities. The same will be true for any Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and any future Integrated Care Systems (ICSs) which may evolve from STPs within the London and South East Coast regions.

Once live, the framework agreement is estimated to be worth up to £22m, with the call-off ordering procedure including a mixture of direct award and mini-competition routes.

Full details regarding the procurement notice are available in the tender pack accessible via the NHS LPP members’ e-sourcing portal – OJEU reference 2020/S 154-378181.
