Free access to education resources for student midwives
Midwifery students have free access to Electronic Fetal Monitoring (eFM) and other e-Learning for Healthcare (e-LfH).
The Royal College of Midwives praised Health Education England for making it available. The union’s England director Jacque Gerrard said: “We warmly welcome this news and this venture, which has been a long time coming. This opportunity opens up new frontiers for our student members and midwifery educators. It is a great boost for education resources for student midwives and midwifery teachers to have free access to cutting edge electronic educational resources, such as eFM for student midwives and midwifery teachers.
“Our hope is the improved electronic access to these resources for students will broaden their knowledge base and empower students and have a knock on effect to improve health outcomes for mothers, babies and their families. We applaud Health Education England for addressing imbalances in access to education resources for student and midwifery teachers having access to this important additional training. It is also reassuring to know that the materials will be accessible to students and teachers across the UK.”
