Three new non-executive directors to join NHS Digital
Three new non-executive directors have been brought in by NHS Digital to help “shape the governance of the organisation.”
John Noble, Deborah Oakley, and Balram Veliath will all bring their expertise to the leadership of the organisation.
John Noble has previously worked in the security services, where he has led major operational and strategic change programmes including in the field the UK’s cyber resilience infrastructure.
Deborah Oakley is a long-standing member on the Board of the Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA), a position she has held since 2012.
Oakley has also chaired the Biological Medicines Technical Committee at the Health Protection Agency and the Audit Committee of NHS Camden PCT. Prior to this, she enjoyed a career at Newton Investment Management spanning 20 years.
Balram Veliath is currently the director of quality, risk and assurance at the BBC. He has previously been a partner at KPMG, executive vice president at ABN Amro and head of controls for the services division at the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Noel Gordon, chair of NHS Digital, said: “John, Deborah, and Balram bring with them huge depths of expertise and impressive track records in their fields which will help us continue to build on the strength, diversity and competence around our Board table.
