NHS Supply Chain issues £2.7bn open future opportunity notice
In anticipation of the awarding of a framework next year, NHS Supply Chain has issued an open future opportunity for equipment and services around imaging, radiotherapy, endoscopy, ancillary devices and related goods.
Listed at a value of £2.69bn for the length of the contract, NHS Supply Chain foresees awarding the framework agreement to a maximum of approximately 150 applicants, with precise quantities currently unknown.
The intention of the contract will be to see the following equipment and services available under the framework: imaging, radiotherapy, endoscopy, ancillary devices and related goods and services, including but not limited to point of sale maintenance, training, turnkey arrangements between trusts and the equipment providers, options for siting equipment, equipment warranty and loan and rental equipment.
Approach to market date for the contract has been established as March 1, 2021 at present, with the contract suitable for both SMEs and VCSEs.
It is anticipated initial expenditure will be in the region of £398m to £466m in the first year of the framework agreement. These values remain approximations only at this stage, dependant on the requirements of those bodies purchasing under the framework agreement.
