Shortlists Unveiled for National Portering & Healthcare Cleaning Awards – in association with NHS England

The eagerly awaited shortlists for The National MyPorter Awards and The National MyCleaning Awards were revealed today, showcasing the exceptional candidates for each of the thirteen award categories.

This year, the awards received a record-breaking number of nominations, with over 300 entries from across the UK and Ireland. This made the task of selecting the finalists extremely difficult for the NHS England judges, who reviewed each nomination carefully and recognise the outstanding contributions made by those in Portering and Healthcare Cleaning roles.

The live awards ceremonies are taking place in February over two consecutive days in central London. The events cast a well-deserved spotlight on these healthcare professionals who demonstrate exceptional dedication and commitment. The first day will celebrate Healthcare Cleaners, Domestic teams, and Auditors for their vital role in ensuring a clean and safe environment for patients. The second day will applaud the portering services for their outstanding work in supporting healthcare operations.

This year, the awards are supported by two leading healthcare brands to express their support and appreciation for these unsung heroes. ISS is the headline sponsor for the MyPorter Awards while Compass Medirest backs the MyCleaning Awards as the gold sponsor.

The live awards ceremonies are not only a celebration of the portering and cleaning staff in the NHS, but also an opportunity to learn from the best practices and innovations in the sector.

The opening day will commence with a live conference featuring sessions on the latest trends within healthcare cleaning from NHS England with a keynote from Emma Brookes and industry champion Delia Cannings will again take to the stage, sharing her expertise and insights. The second day will feature discussions led by NHS England’s Phil Shelley, addressing the latest on the new portering standards, sessions by Caroline Lowe and Fay Lane regarding apprenticeships and the latest on the new national non-clinical uniform.

These sessions will be followed by a panel discussion, where the industry leaders will answer questions from the audience and discuss the challenges and opportunities facing the portering, auditing and cleaning services in the NHS.
