Health Education England (HEE) has outlined how it’s funding will be distributed to support the training of healthcare professionals as part of it’s newly-published NHS Education Funding Guide.
The document, being published for the first time, aims to widen understanding of HEE’s role in funding education and training, and highlighting the profile and transparency of the organisation’s funding offer.
Aimed at all who receive HEE funding, the newly-published guide breaks down how the organisation works to support learners, educational institutions, employers and placement providers to help support the best possible training opportunities for professional roles for the 2020/21 financial year.
It will be revised and republished annually as part of a drive to further increase transparency.
This annual publication will accompany the Department of Health and Social Care’s Education & Training Tariff guidance – also set to be published annually.
Calum Pallister, Director of Finance, Health Education England said: “We are publishing this guide to increase transparency and understanding of the funding we provide for education and training to support the development of the future NHS workforce through our annual budget, which is over £4.2bn.
