NHS Shared Business Services (NHS SBS) has been named one of the best workplaces for employee wellbeing in the country.
NHS SBS were placed 36th among 50 ‘super large organisations’ in the UK’s Best Workplaces for Wellbeing list.
Findings
Analysis of anonymous survey responses from NHS SBS employees indicates that:
- 97% feel the organisation is physically safe;
- 95% say are treated fairly, irrespective of sexual orientation;
- 93% believe they are treated fairly, regardless of their race or ethnicity; and
- 90% report that they were made to feel welcome when they first joined the organisation.
The surveys were undertaken by Great Place to Work (GPTW) culture experts.
HR director at NHS SBS, Sarah Bryan, said that her organisation was assessed in every aspect of wellbeing, including work-life balance, fulfilment, job satisfaction, financial stability, as well as consistency across departments and pay bands.
“When our employees thrive so does our organisation and quality of service, and our inclusion on this exclusive list officially acknowledges our commitment to create a consistently positive employee experience,” said Bryan.
Track record
The news comes after NHS SBS was named 27th in the UK’s Best Workplaces list, as well as being recognised in the UK’s Best Workplaces for Development section.
Sarah Bryan recently penned an exclusive account of how NHS SBS has been prioritising employee support and wellbeing to help create a resilient NHS for National Health Executive’s digital magazine. Read about centres of excellence, transformation, and leadership here.
Bryan added: “We’re immensely proud to be recognised as one of the UK’s leading organisations in this regard and whilst there’s more to be done, it is strong affirmation we’re on the right track.”
