The NHS along with its local authority partners recently attended a topping out event hosted at the new £23m Chiswick Health Centre.
Once construction has finished, the health centre will host West4GPs, Chiswick Family Practice, and Chiswick Health Practice, alongside the Chiswick primary care network (PCN).
The event saw contractors Willmott Dixon welcome professionals from:
- NHS Property Services (NHSPS)
- North West London Integrated Care Board
- The three GP practices
- The local PCN
- Hounslow Council
As well as reducing local carbon emissions by 77%, NHSPS highlights that the incoming site will enable better biodiversity with landscaped courtyards, a garden terrace, and a community green space.
More than 50 affordable housing units will also be developed and made available for NHS workers as part of the project.
Investment and development management director at NHSPS, Adrian Powell, said: “Chiswick Health Centre is a major project that has brought together many stakeholders, and to be here today celebrating this milestone is a massive collaborative achievement.”
The NHS expects to see its first patients at the new Chiswick Health Centre early next year.
“It’s wonderful to see the progress of this development and all the work that is going in to building this state of the art health centre,” added Hounslow’s assistant director for primary care, integrated and delivery, Mark Jarvis.
“This is a significant step forward in an ambitious project that will improve primary care services in Hounslow.”
Councillor Samia Chaudhary, cabinet member for adult social care, public health and transformation at Hounslow Council, explained: “This endeavour is a testament to the power of collaboration.
“The partnership between the London Borough of Hounslow and NHSPS exemplifies what can be achieved when entities come together with a shared vision and purpose.”
