Can patient flow really be transformed across Integrated Care Systems?

At the beginning of November National Health Executive, in partnership with SAS Software Ltd, brought together a panel of industry experts to explore how we can improve patient flow by using data to help alleviate pressure from the NHS and improve patient experience.

To discuss this topic, we invited Penny Kechagioglou, Chief Clinical Information Officer, Coventry University Hospital; Matt Inada-Kim, Acute Medicine Consultant, Royal Hampshire County Hospital and Mark Frankish Senior Healthcare Expert, SAS Software Ltd.

In this webinar, our panellist talked about:

  • The development of patient flow modelling,
  • How this paves the way for machine learning and driving innovation through AI,
  • How a data-driven NHS can achieve greater heights across numerous areas such as incident response, infection prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and resources.

We also touched on the importance of Integrated Care Systems (ICS) in enhancing patient outcomes by concentrating on things like patient flow, processes, digital technology, community engagement, and more.

All which are major factors in helping NHS organisations keep in line with the NHS Long Term Plan and cut NHS spending, improve employee wellbeing, and address the NHS backlog.
