FYFV to be overarching theme at Expo 2016
The overarching theme at this year’s Health and Care Innovation Expo 2016 will be the Five Year Forward View, and will allow the sector to take the “pulse” of the system.
As always, a strong speaker line up has been confirmed: NHS England chief executive Simon Stevens, the director of New Care Models Samantha Jones, the chief nursing officer for England, Jane Cummings, and NHS England’s national medical director Professor Sir Bruce Keogh, as well as national cancer director Cally Palmer. These are to name just a few of the headliners.
Other speakers will include Life Sciences Minister George Freeman, Professor Bob Wachter, who is leading the national review on ‘Making IT work’, and National Data Guardian Fiona Caldicott.
NHS England chairman Professor Sir Malcolm Grant has described Expo as a unique event, where leaders from all parts of the NHS, local government, the third sector and private business spend two days sharing the innovation that brings about improvements to patient care.
“In my view, there is no better event than Health and Care Innovation Expo at which to take the pulse of the health and care system, gain a full understanding of the challenges and opportunities we collectively face, and drill down to gain new insights and ideas in our own areas of expertise and interest,” he said.
As ever, NHE will be attending Expo and delegates can now book their place, click here. Expo 2016 will return to Manchester Central on 7-8 September 2016.
