NHS England commits £30m to join up HR and staff rostering systems

As NHS England looks to support new ways of working, it has launched a £30m contract tender for HR and staff rostering systems, seeking suppliers to provide software to help join up systems.

The framework has been drafted to help support NHS trusts, bodies and systems with the growing introduction of Integrated Care Systems (ICSs), a close collaboration of NHS organisations, local councils and other health and care providers and stakeholders within a region.

Initially outlined for a four-year period, with an option to extend further, the framework will allow NHS England and NHS Improvement to expand the scope of access to workforce and HR solutions, allowing those within the health service who need them to better deliver on the ambitions of the NHS Long Term Plan and NHS People Plan.

Under the new contract, the Health Systems Support Framework will be opened up to bids from suppliers of e-rostering, job planning and temporary staffing software solutions.

Provision has also been made to ensure new innovations which may emerge to help address challenges faced within health and social care settings can be easily engaged with.

Technologies such as finance systems, time accounting, business intelligence, analytics and forecasting remain available as part of the main framework too, as NHS England look to utilise best practice and innovative solutions in workforce management, deployment and development of staff to overcome challenges and provide the best possible patient care.

The procurement opportunity is set to be open for tenders until October 9, 2020.
